Weather Watcher 5.6.25: Enhancements and Bug Fixes

The latest release of Weather Watcher, version 5.6.25, brings several enhancements and bug fixes to the table. One of the notable improvements is the update of various window control colors, which should make it easier to read the controls even when using different Windows themes.

Another significant change is the ability to use non-alpha and non-numeric characters in proxy usernames and passwords. This feature allows for more flexibility when setting up your proxy connections.

In addition, the Weather Watcher downloader (GetFile.exe) has been updated to URL encode proxy username and password, making it easier to handle special characters.

The double-click action in the 'Tray Icon' tab of the Weather Watcher Options window now uses the native Windows double-click speed to detect double-clicks. This should provide a more accurate and responsive experience.

The 'Forecast Auto Update Rate' dropdown in the 'Auto Update' tab of the Weather Watcher Options window has been updated to remove 1-4 minute intervals, making it easier to customize your weather updates.

Unfortunately, Windows Vista users will no longer be able to display animated map images as wallpaper due to the lack of Active Desktop feature. However, this limitation is reflected in the new option to disable the animated wallpaper feature for Windows Vista users.

To prevent the Weather Watcher program folder from opening when Windows starts, quotes have been added to the Weather Watcher program registry path. This should provide a more streamlined startup experience.

When using the INI option (-i or -id command line parameters), WW will now store the INI files in the Weather Watcher install folder (default = C:/Program Files/Weather Watcher).

The Map Manager button has been added, allowing users to check/uncheck all listed maps. This feature is accessible from the 'Maps' tab of the Weather Watcher Options window.

Finally, a new option has been added under 'General' -> 'Store user files in the Weather Watcher program folder', which allows users to choose whether to store their working files in the current user's Windows profile or the Weather Watcher program folder.

Overall, this latest release of Weather Watcher brings several useful enhancements and bug fixes that should improve the overall user experience.
